Clinical Faculty - Department of PA Education

The Department of Physician Assistant Education at the University of Dayton invites applications for a non-tenure track Clinical Faculty position with anticipated start of October 2019. This faculty member will be responsible primarily for clinical site recruitment, development, and retention. An ideal candidate would act as a liaison between the UD PA Program and a wide variety of health care partners and clinical sites. This includes making initial or follow up contact with potential clinical sites, interacting with providers and administrators at clinical sites, and participating in clinical site evaluation. A portion of the individual’s time may also be spent providing student instruction, assessing student performance, participating in the admissions process, student mentoring/advising, and program activities such as accreditation, curriculum review, and program evaluation. Candidates with an interest in physician assistant education are encouraged to apply.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Terminal degree for her/his field from an accredited institution in a health- related field (ex. Physician Assistant: Master’s Degree, Medical Doctor: MD or DO)

2. Current certification by applicable accrediting body

3. Valid Ohio license, or eligibility for Ohio license

4. Two years of clinical experience as a practicing clinician

5. Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly in a written format

6. Valid driver’s license with low risk driving record.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Physician Assistant preferred

2. Effective interpersonal communication skills

3. Three or more years of experience as a practicing clinician

4. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain successful relationships within the local healthcare community

5. Demonstration of successfully fostering relationships through entrepreneurial initiatives

6. Track record of successful problem solving

7. Demonstration of excellent time management and organizational skills

8. Successful experience in PA education, including assessing and mentoring physician assistant students

9. Successful experience working with people from diverse backgrounds

10. Openness to promoting and enhancing the Catholic Marianist culture of the Department and University.

11. Demonstrated experience of successfully working as a member of a team
